EFTIA ANNOUNCES GENERAL AVAILABILITY OF Ai² APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK - Solution For Development of Resource Management Applications Puts Power into Hands of Business Domain Experts
Ottawa, Ontario - Nov 11th, 2003 - Eftia, a global provider of operations management software solutions designed to meet the business automation needs of communications service providers and large enterprises, today announced the market release of their rapid application development framework product, Ai² ("Ai squared") v1.0. Ai² enables customers and partners alike to create custom, cost-effective resource management applications across multiple industry verticals including communications, transportation, utilities and finance. Adding a greater degree of depth to the Eftia suite of products, the new addition provides the response the industry has been waiting for - the ability to provide an instant software response to business operations.
As a set of application components operating on an enterprise scaleable J2EE based framework using JavaTM and Object Oriented technology standards, the Ai² core engine forms the foundation upon which organizations can build industry and/or customer specific resource management applications. Ai² includes: a Core Engine, an Application Framework, the Security and Administration Services (SAS) layer and a Designer Console which provide the underlying functionality for creating and adapting information models, user management, and rapid application development. A web-based user interface allows business domain experts to create and control extensible meta-models, business rules, work activities, and Actions to trigger internal and external event processing, all in an environment that does not require programming expertise.
By allowing non-technical users to define and manage each resource in their environment, the business rules that govern those resources, and the relationship they hold with all other resources, Ai² gives any organization the ability to track and report on its resources throughout their lifecycle, from creation to retirement. Through the Designer Console, users can define and manage any form of resource (whether physical or logical), across any industry, thereby accelerating the process of creating custom applications, allowing organizations to meet specific business objectives in a more efficient manner. Ai² also provides an adaptable run-time environment to facilitate the process of quickly effecting changes to business processes.
