Northwest Telephone Inc. (NTI) chooses Eftia's Master.Scribe - Robust OSS Suite Key to Management of Explosive Growth for CLEC
Ottawa, Canada - January 20, 2004 - Eftia, a global provider of operations management software solutions designed to meet the business automation needs of communications service providers and large enterprises, today announced that Northwest Telephone, Inc. (NTI), a Washington State based CLEC that delivers data, voice, and dedicated Internet access to businesses across the Pacific Northwest, has selected Eftia's Master.Scribe Suite as the solution for its OSS needs.
While NTI began with services to the state of Washington, it is now, after five years of operation, taking on a multi-state strategy and expanding into Idaho and Oregon. This expansion found NTI outgrowing their internal systems, straining resources, and creating inefficiencies that triggered a search by the regional telephone company a year ago for an OSS package that would further enhance control of their 'Rural Area Network.' "Master.Scribe is a good fit for NTI's need to streamline operations and deliver high quality customer support in the face of significant growth," says Jenny Rickel, NTI Chief Operating Officer. "We believe the software's maintenance module, handling trouble resolution will have a major impact on overall customer satisfaction and retention."
Eftia's Master.Scribe Suite covers the areas of service order management, number management, inventory management and trouble management, and it is this broad functionality, in one platform, that best fit NTI's business needs. As an organization that offers a wide range of services (from private line, to long distance, to VPN) it was fundamentally important to NTI to have one system that all of their technical and administrative people could access from their various offices. By utilizing Master.Scribe as the mainstay of their operational infrastructure, they are able to create this single source of information, gain manageability over their order provisioning, and control the costs associated with an expanding business. "As we grow our business it is vital that we maintain the predictability of the services we offer," says Andrew Metcalfe, Chief Executive Officer at NTI. "The implementation of Master.Scribe is key to achieving this business success. The system provides us with a smart solution now that will expand with our organization as we move into other markets."
Employing Eftia's own 'OSS best practices' for the implementation, which is currently underway, NTI is looking to have the system fully rolled out in the next six months, enabling them to handle current needs while positioning them for future growth and expansion. "We simply couldn't grow our business without it," adds Metcalfe.
While the strength and depth of the product features were
key to NTI's decision to go with Master.Scribe, equally as important was Eftia's
product knowledge and telecommunications expertise, as well as their history
of success with similar implementations. "We're excited to be implementing
Master.Scribe at NTI and to be working with an organization that is well positioned
to expand the quality and reach of their products and services," said
Stephen Parker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Eftia. "The need
to carefully manage costs during growth is vital for any company's stability
and profitability, and Master.Scribe's proven capacity to help keep operational
costs under control will be key to helping NTI achieve their business objectives
going forward."
