Ottawa, Canada - June 14, 2004 - Eftia, a global provider of operations management software solutions designed to meet the business automation needs of communications service providers and large enterprises, and Symbio, a global solutions provider for software development, globalization and testing services today announced they have signed a strategic alliance to enable Eftia to grow their presence in the Asian markets. Per the alliance, Symbio will become Eftia’s end-to-end partner to localize and prepare Master.Scribe for Asia, as well as customize, configure and install Master.Scribe for Asian customers, and provide on-going 1st and 2nd level support in country. Eftia and Symbio have also signed an agreement under which Symbio will market and resell Master.Scribe in Asia. Together, the two companies will form a sales partnership that will see Symbio selling Eftia’s Master.Scribe suite for OSS via its Greater China based sales organization.
As a leading provider of end-to-end software services that help companies successfully launch and support products in Asia, Symbio looks for dynamic partners to help them provide strong adaptable software solutions to the rapidly growing Asian market. The expansion and development in Telecom in this area, coupled with the lack of solid commercial grade software available to Asian Telecom companies, made the time right to team with a strong OSS vendor. With a robust OSS suite that is tuned for the telecom industry, and a solid Asian presence through its India operation, Eftia made the perfect choice.
“We are very excited about the possibilities that this partnership opportunity represents,” says Symbio’s CEO, Joseph Hsu. "We believe Eftia is an excellent fit for the business needs of Asian Telecom companies, with a proven return on investment. The strength and maturity of their product offering makes them a valued addition to the Symbio family of products.”
Eftia’s Master.Scribe suite offers telecom providers the means to effectively control their costs while achieving significantly increased operational efficiencies. The product can assist Service Providers in the Asia/Pacific region in managing their order management, inventory/network asset management, trouble ticket management and the management of telephone number or IP addresses.
"There is little doubt to the importance of the Asian market to any global organization," says Mr. Stephen Parker, Eftia President and CEO. "The dramatic level of growth this region has seen in recent years dictates its importance. Symbio brings to the package an intense knowledge of the market, end-to-end product development services as well as extensive engineering-based support capabilities, while Eftia provides a solid, proven OSS Suite. Together, the two organizations represent a essential solution to the Asian Telecom market’s needs."
With this alliance firmly in place Eftia and Symbio will be in a strong position to lead the way for OSS in Asia.
