Next Generation OSS

ARINC Chooses Eftia's Master.Scribe
Major service providers continue to look to Eftia for OSS solutions

(October 1, 2002 Ottawa, Canada) Eftia™, a leading provider of operational support systems (OSS) for wireless and wireline service providers, today announced that Annapolis-based ARINC Incorporated, the world leader in transportation communications and systems engineering, has selected Eftia Master.Scribe™ to manage its service order and inventory processes. Notably, this deal closed rather quickly-testimony to Eftia's ability to quickly distinguish its products and services from those of its competitors.

Incorporated in 1929, ARINC has grown to a $558 million ISO 9001-certified company with customers in 80 countries around the globe. It is recognized as a leading provider of transportation communication and systems engineering for five major industries: aviation, airports, defense, government and transportation. ARINC will benefit from Eftia's out-of-the-box solutions for comprehensive order management, telecom circuit and asset inventory management.

"Eftia is delighted to be partnering with this enormously successful enterprise company," says Stephen Parker, President and Chief Executive Officer at Eftia. "We look forward to working alongside ARINC to implement flexible and robust OSS solutions that will meet their unique business challenges. As a native to the Washington, DC area, I have been aware of their reputation as a high quality organization for many years." Given the large size of the company-together with such concerns as the need to oversee leased facilities and to manage multi-vendor contracts-ARINC's service order and inventory management tasks are formidable. They wanted an end-to-end system that seamlessly tied the pieces of their business together, and modeled the entire lifecycle. Eftia's does just that.

"Eftia's pre-integrated solutions certainly satisfied our criteria checklist, and did so impressively," says Sheila Nasteff, Information Management Senior Manager at ARINC. "By the end of our intensive product evaluation, all of our user groups were remarking that the software seemed to be designed specifically for ARINC, so closely did it match our requirements." Eftia then clinched the deal with their responsiveness and flexibility to partner with ARINC to create the right solution for their business.

"You simply cannot underestimate the value of that level of commitment from the entire team," adds Rick Napolitano, Infrastructure Management Senior Director for ARINC.

Deployment of Eftia's service order and inventory software will begin immediately and the partnership will continue over the next several quarters as ARINC moves towards complete consolidation of its OSS. "Watching Master.Scribe model our entire lifecycle, we immediately became aware of ways in which we could further improve our operational efficiency through the use of other Eftia products," says Napolitano. "Clearly, Eftia is going to be an important partner as we build our business over the next year."
