In June 1999, Eftia joined 26 other leading companies including Microsoft, and became a member of the OSS Working Group. The group defines a framework for OSS and business support systems (BSS) applications that will best meet the needs of existing and new service providers as they deploy network services to their customers.

The OSS Working Group promotes the creation and adoption of interfaces based on Component Object Model (COM) technologies, enabling network equipment providers and software vendors to create new applications to meet the requirements of today's service providers.
